This morning I went to the doctor and he said that the eye is looking good which is reassuring. He also removed the other stitch - so I am looking closer and closer to healed. Give it one more week and the bruises should be gone. Which means nothing to most of you since I'm leaving in a week so people who have seen me stitched up will be in Minnesota and my friends from Illinois won't know what happened, except from first hand accounts by me.
Read full postI just finished watching an epsiode of Space Ghost: From Coast to Coast. Wow, that show is funny. They aired a 15 minute infomecial on how Space Ghost can increase marketability for your product. It was such an awesome satire of anything I've ever seen.
Read full postMolly and I just saw the Chemical Brothers' video for Let Forever Be. That is probably the coolest video I've seen in a while. It blends live-television looking footage along with special effects to create a really trip video. Go Chemmy!
Read full postWell yesterday I went into surgery and came back with a new Silicon Rod in my eye region.
The surgery itself was very brief and I noticed it not. However, healing from the stitches may take a while. Getting used to an open eye may take some time too. I should be good to go in a couple of weeks.
Read full postI keep forgetting to post stuff, despite my gobs of free time. Yesterday we had a canoe expedition around the northern half of the Chain of Lakes. It was quite fun. Afterwards we had a picnic and then Adam, Julie, Molly and I saw Drop Dead Gorgeous an amusing film set in Minnesota.
Surgery tomorrow. People who are relatively nearby can visit me in the afternoon or night.
Read full postDan, Katie and I (out of an initial group of six) thought it was worthwhile to go get some chocolate cake tonight. Well we settled for some little debbies and chocolate chip cookies (the latter which we did not eat).
I washed it down with some good cream soda... nothing better than going to sleep with a lot of sugar in the system. Ah 'munchies' at 2 AM... how collegiate.

I have what is known as congenital ptosis in my left eyelid. Basically Ptosis is a drooping of the upper eyelid.
When I was four I had surgery which fixed a significant ammount of problems that I did have with my eyelids. Around last year I felt that it was time to have more work done on my eye.
I met with the very doctor who worked on my eyes 15 years ago and we scheduled surgery. The processis basically adding a silicon sling within my eye that will keep my eye open like normal.
The surgery will take place next Tuesday (3 Aug).
Read full postHere is a link I just found about the FTC case against Web Valley. It's more incriminating and names three companies which are all aliases for one another (at least that was my knowledge).
Read full postMy dad called me about this article in the Business section of the Star Tribune.
During the summer of 1997 I worked at Profile National Business Directory. I was designing a prototype internet mall, but I did hear about the phone-scams. I felt what the company was doing was morally wrong. They were praying on people who were not only ignorant of the internet, but people who didn't even authorize any work to be done.
I talked to a few people at the company and realized that the company slowly outsourced everything (including design to a company in India). The design of the sites was done using coldfusion scripts and made it very easy for people to create. No effort was required. The process was made to be as cheap as possible.
I always felt that I should have made a complaint somewhere, but what ended up happening is probably good enough for me.
So the moral of the story? Well first, don't cheat people. Secondly, pay close attention to your bills.
