I like this new single from Ice T called Always Want Ta Be a Ho. It's interesting because it goes into the past of people like this. Ice T is cool enough to release his album on mp3 (this one is free).
Read full postAll five of my classes in the last two and a half weeks have had midterms. I had my last one tonight (Hindi) and it was fairly simple. So now I have some free time. Actually I don't. I didn't really study too much for those tests (I just did my best, which was pretty good). Now, I just have a computer architecture machine problem (MP) and two homework assignments to finish by Monday. Luckily the work portion of the MP is complete.
Read full postSo I wanted to start using my portable CD player once more. So I tried to use it with my crappy headphones and it didn't work. So last night at Meijer I bought new headphones to replace the crappy ones and some batteries. New batteries didn't help. So I was without a functional Discman. This somewhat annoys me. Luckily Brendon has a more modern Discman that does work. So I'm using that now with Sony Street Style headphones. It's awesome. I like the headphones because they go behind your head and they only use a cord that doesn't split to your left and right ears. Actually they do split, but it goes through the headband part of the head phones. The sound is decent (I wasn't asking for too much, just a fairly clean sound). So I'm happy. One day when I feel the urge, I may get my own discman and be elite like my roommate. But until then, I'll bum off him.
Read full postI'm wondering where I can get started mixing music. I'm at the point where I can generally take parts of songs and figure out what they sound like and what they'd mix well with. Now I just need to find some budget equipment (Power Mac and maybe a keyboard). Then just work on getting tracks from artists and mixing them. I suppose I could also DJ stuff. DJing (well) isn't too hard. I just need equipment and some practice. If you are wondering what's behind all this, listend to "Prodigy Presents: The Dirtchamber Sessions: Volume 1." It's an interesting piece of work that mixes various things from different genres.
Read full postI'd like to be a spy. It'd be so much fun. I'm very into multidisciplinary learning and spying seems like a job that would be able to make use of someone with multiple abilities. I'd like to use my problem solving abilities to figure out ways of invading personal or even corporate privacy. Then I'd like to actually go out to on the scene and actually do the spying. I want to put my self in hi risk positions where I might be apprehended and what not, just because I want to be a thrill-seeker. It's like personal vertical integration. The NSA won't hire me, but maybe someone else will.
Read full postExams in large classes at large universities like this don't typically get cancelled. But when they do, there's always a good reason. My computer architechture class was cancelled due to this:
POTENTIALLY HARMFUL FUMES FROM WELDING TORCHES IN THE BASEMENT ARE PERMEATING INTO NUMEROUS AREAS IN THE BUILDING.This was for just half the class, but to be fair and to make scheduling easy we have to cancel the test for the entire class. So I have a few more days to get smarter... Read full postO&M WILL BE VENTILATING THE BUILDING WITH OUTSIDE AIR.
WE HOPE TO BE ABLE TO RETURN TO OFFICE BY AROUND 1:00.
I think that the site for Banco De Gaia is done incredibly well.
Read full post"I am a HAL nine thousand computer Production Number 3. I became operational at the Hal Plant in Urbana, Illinois, on January 12, 1997." That made the movie enjoyable. That, and HAL singing Daisy.
If you saw the Simpson's episode that parodied this movie, you'd get the gist of the movie. It was a very strange 2:20 minute movie with only :40 of talking. The other 1:40 was dead silence or various pieces of music which most people would immediately recognize. Artsy-Kubric stuff.
I won't go as far to say this was a bad movie. In fact, I think everyone should see this movie once. I'm going to read the book, and try to understand what Stanley Kubric was trying to portray.
Read full postMy eye was very swollen this morning and has acted as it did when I came out of surgery. This is understandable. My doctor just told me that I should have removed the entire rod, lest it get infected. Unfortunately I could not get at the rod. So I've just cleaned the area as much as possible and taken some acidophilus to combat any bacterial infections I might get.
