What do you want next?

I'm taking requests. What do people want to see next on this site?

  • Calendar - to inform people of events
  • Survey - just a small poll system
  • Picture Gallery
Those are the main three ideas in my head right now, I'm open to doing any of those right now. The journal isn't finished either so I may work on some of that.

I haven't gotten around to writing the emailer yet, but you can probably guess my email address or ICQ me.

Easier than windows...

Finally they are breaking the major stumbling block. Installing Linux can now be easier than installing windows. Look at the new Caldera install. If you go down a few shots, there is a tetris game you can play while it installs. That's the way install programs should be (if they are going to take time).

home

I came home at 6am yesterday. Thanks to my brother, Molly and my cousin, Julie who spent over 16 hours in a non-air conditioned vehicle in the span of 23 hours just to bring myself and my stuff home.

Balance to the Force

There seems to be a misconception with Samuel L. Jackson's line: "We refer to the prophecy of the one who will bring balance to the force..." A lot of people see the state of the universe as balanced in favor of light rather than dark, due to the Jedi's presence. The truth is, there was plenty of darkness. Force doesn't necessarily exist only in Jedi and Sith, but rather in everything. It binds everybody. There was a lot of darkness in the force. The corrupted senate was the best example. The fact that thousands of light Jedi existed to settle disputes, etc. There was not peace in the galaxy.

For the record, I think Qui-Gon was wrong in a sense. It is actually the son of Anakin Skywalker who does bring balance to the force by restoring the Jedi. Of course Anakin did have a role in it by tossing out the Emperor.

Uh-oh

Leia had an accident. This morning she's been pawing at her nose, and I thought she had a cold or something. I felt bad for her, but I couldn't really do anything. She crawled onto my bed and went to sleep and when I looked at her she was almost crying. I let her sleep. Then I went to her again to see how she was, and I saw what had happened. Leia had the flea collar which went around her neck get caught between her mouth so her jaw was forced open. Once I figured that out I took the collar off, I hope she feels better. It's a good thing I don't owna kitten or I'd be worried constantly.

Site5, davedash.com

Today, among being the big 40 is the opening of davedash.com. I will no longer be posting on ftmax.com, if this setup works. I will slowly phase out ftmax.com and move things over to this domain. After everything is moved onto davedash.com, I will figure out some new things for ftmax.com. If you have an idea of something for that domain, I'm open for suggestions.

Kittens

Right now Princess Leia (the kitten) is playing on my dresser with my keys. We got rid of the larger cat, Sparkles, because it wasn't very nice when it would see Leia. We replaced it with Han Solo, another kitten, which fights constantly with Leia. Very cute. I have pictures that I'll eventually show to people.

Sparkle is under my bed...

My roommate, Jason, and his girlfriend, Harriet, brought home a cat and a kitten. The cat, Sparkle, leaped over my crudely constructed obstacles and is now hiding under my bed... this is the second time today it has done such a thing. I think I'll leave her there.

The governor...

I just went outside to see this chopper that was flying down. Actually a pair of choppers. It turns out it was the Governor of Illinois and this envoy of police cars and fire trucks. He's dedicating a crisis center. It felt like the campus was being taken over. I mean the Beckman is the ideal place to land. I shook hands with the governor and his wife. Only took a few photos of the chopper, not the governor. Oh well...

I want a copter when I grow up. I'd fly wherever.
