EMP

I encourage everybody who likes Rock and Roll (to whatever extent) to visit the Experience Music Project. I was there this weekend in Seattle and it was really amazing. I spent five hours looking at stuff and didn't even get to see all I wanted.

Seattle in general is beautiful... I hope I get a chance to go there again.

Middle East

If you know nothing about the Middle East read this CNN/Time Guide to whatever extent you can.

For me it filled all the holes of my understanding of the Middle East situation. So far I have concluded that both the PLO and Israel are willing to conceded to the same things as a group, but a few individuals or groups of individuals ruin the peace process for everybody. This should work out eventually over time theoretically.

X-33

My right hand Jew-Man, Marc Gutman was forever temporarily immortalized on /.. His words were, "Dude! I know."

In other news... The X-33 may not fly. That saddens me. The X-33 is a space-plane that is a replacement for the Space Shuttle. It's reusability will likely cause NASA to do more stuff in space expanding our planets knowledge of space. It will be the precursor to the Venture Star which will undoubtedly be the coolest thing to come out of earth for a while. Eventually we will evolve into more flexible means of transport systems such as galactic space cruisers which make use of worm-holes to jump from one point in space to another instantly. We will gradually make contact with other life forms that look different. Possibly an entire planet composed of bug-like creatures that live in a way so foreign to us that their day to day activities will scare both races into an aggressive state. Eventually war will break lose and millions will die. Perhaps under such stress human ingenuity will come into factor and we will come to a stand-still with our bug-like aliens. We will train our psychologists and other scientists to try to understand the bug-races ways until we the people can learn to live with them in our universe. We will make treaties and share information and better both races. Therefore you should write to your congressperson and request that they support funding the X-33.

I can booze drink legally again!

So yeah, Michelle, Luigi, John and Julie all took me out to lunch which was awesome. Other than that, it's been a typical homework-filled Sunday.

No, I don't feel any different. Maybe after a few gallons of booze I will.

skool

I don't know where I left off... anyhow, I am living with six of my comrades... come over if you like, we love guests. Email me if you need directions.

Move in has been fine, I take longer than most people to get all my stuff unpacked. So I'm not fully settled. We don't get Ethernet until October, so nuts to that.

Today was a record high for CMI... good lord was it hot. I also managed to dehydrate myself (I drank a lot of water though) by walking outside under the cursed yellow sun and working out twice. I also re-twisted my foot since I decided to skate without an ACE wrap around my foot. I'm going to leave this computer lab now, and put some ice on my foot.

Happy Birthday Adam "Mr. Roboto" Nagao.

School... oh man!

Dan and Marc are dropping me off at school. Oh man... that means I have to go learn now... haven't moved into my house yet, and supposedly no internet until Tuesday... oh well...

It's good to be back at school. I need a personal assistant who can type up these things for me.

Oh, did I mention... between this post and the last posting... I went up to Minnesota for a week where I managed to sprain my ankle while rollerblading (I blame Tanya), see Small Time Crooks, cook in the death kitchen, play scrabble, play soccer (poorly with no functioning right foot) and hang out with Dan, Ryan, Katie, Tanya, Mike, Matt, Marc, Hayley and the gang? Well if I didn't, last week I went up to Minnesota for a week where I managed to sprain my ankle while rollerblading (I blame Tanya), see Small Time Crooks, cook in the death kitchen, play scrabble, play soccer (poorly with no functioning right foot) and hang out with Dan, Ryan, Katie, Tanya, Mike, Matt, Marc, Hayley and the gang.

Jack of all Trades

Marc is staying at my apartment now while he waits for me to finish my internship. In the meantime he's cleaned up the kitchen and whatnot. Wow...

This week is busy I guess. I'm anxious because I have a mail-order for a decent amount that is constantly being delayed (They claim to have shipped it each time I call, but they lie). Which means it will take forever to reach me since I'll need to do postal mail forwarding. But I'd really just like to rollerblade now...

I heard some good news from Julie in that I don't have to go down to Urbana to put my stuff in my house since her Dad got a huge truck. Saves Marc and I some time and means I get to be in Minnesota that much sooner.

That's all for now. See you soon Minnesota and see you soon Urbana. As for Palatine... so long.

Winning...

Well summer if finally winding down... I can't really tell. I probably won't be able to tell until I start planning to go back to school.

Work has been okay, even though it's suboptimal. Actually I'm quite bored at work. Three more games of soccer, and I don't see too much improvement in my game coming soon, so I will continue to suck. Friday one of the "interns" leaves my department and I give my final presentation, which should be better than dull if I prepare for it. The following Thursday is my last day of work and my exit interview.

Sunday I heard some good news from one of my favorite Jews, Marc. He and Hayley will be coming to visit Chicago and take me to the safe haven that I call Minnesota.

I splurged a bit on Friday and got some Rollerblading toys including a skate bag, helmet and new axles. These should prove useful at school.

In the meantime I wait for Julie to call me, so I can store my stuff at her house while I'm in Minnesota. She'll most likely call just in the nick of time.

Later...

X-men

If you are a fan of the comics or the TV show I urge you to see it. I just saw it and ... don't read the rest of the post until you see it.

I thought the movie was excellent. It lacked a few things here and there, but the story was done really well. Lived up to Stan Lee's nature.

In addition to good story was definitely awesome special effects. So even if you have gripes about the movie (which I ignored) the effects were awesome. I eagerly await a sequel.
